VINE HILL PTA ANNOUNCES 2021 AUCTION SERIES The Online Auction Returns and the Live Auction will be Virtual Scotts Valley, CA - January 25, 2021 - The Vine Hill Elementary PTA has announced the details for it’s upcoming auction series. The annual auction series raises funds to support a variety of programs for students at Vine Hill including Life Lab, music, art and other key resources such as teachers aids, yard duties and more. The annual online auction will be making it’s return February 5th-19th and there will be our first ever live virtual auction on February 20th from 6-9 PM PT hosted on My Scotts Valley.
“Scotts Valley Unified is the ninth lowest-funded district in the state and we’re concerned about what the reduced enrollment due to the pandemic will do to funding in the coming year,” said Cheryl Ruyle, Vine Hill PTA Secretary and Auction Co-Chair. “Without a clear picture for what the 2021-2022 school year will bring, we are doing everything we can to supplement resources for the children, administration and teachers of Vine Hill.”
“The community has been hit really hard between the CZU Lightening Complex fires, the pandemic, economic downturn and the stress of distance learning,” said Seana Sullivan, Vine Hill PTA VP of Fundraising and Auction Co-Chair. “We know the community has come together for a variety of worthy causes in the last year and know that asking them to reach into their pockets again is a tall order, but there is a multitude of participation levels and the work we’re doing is for the enrichment of the children in this community.”
Online Auction The Online Auction will be taking place from February 5th-19th as the lead up to the Virtual Live Auction on February 20th. The online auction will feature a huge breadth of items for the community to bid on - everything from major appliances like water filtration systems and generators, to local business gift certificates including Otoro, Scotts Valley Feed, 831 Kitchens and Baths Designs, gift baskets from Cali Style, Cruise Coffee, Zanotto’s Markets, and wine from Byington, Soquel Vineyards, Bargettos, Equinox and much much more.
Virtual Live Auction Robert Aldana, Bobbie Ward and Garvin Thomas will be co-hosting the first ever Vine Hill PTA Virtual Live Auction from 6-9 PM PT on Saturday, February 20th on the My Scotts Valley Facebook page. There will be entertainment from celebrities from a variety of genres, including our very own teachers and students. Community members will be able to contribute direct donations of any amount to be entered for a chance to win a 55” 4K TV. Live auction packages range from bespoke beer brewing experiences to luxury retreats, one of a kind birthday experiences and even the chance to be Mayor for a day.

About the Vine Hill School PTA We want our children to be inspired by all the different opportunities. Elementary school should be a time of enlightenment and discovery. It is important that we help provide an academic environment that is enriching. Not only are we, the PTA, a voice at the national level, but we are also a voice for the children at Vine Hill. The programs we fund include art, music, computers, science, and life lab. We help to make sure our children can learn in an environment that is safe and welcoming by funding yard duties and providing Academic Intervention Assistants to support the classrooms. Without the PTA these programs simply wouldn't exist. Beyond these crucial programs, we fund cleaning equipment, landscaping, and supplies to help keep our school clean and fire safe. We have also been able to provide technology upgrades like LadyBug projectors, a classroom set of iPads and a mobile computer lab.
The Vine Hill Parent Teacher Association requests $420 for each and every child. That’s a lot and it continues to grow. We need you to help make a difference by supporting the programs the children love.
